what's new?

I suspect most lawyers and judicial colleagues rarely stray from the criminal law or housing law parts of this web site.  If that description applies to you, I urge you to explore the other parts of my site, and in particular the photos section. In particular, there are photo albums with portraits taken in Burma and Bangladesh. Click on Burmese Portraits (taken in January and February 2011) and Faces of Bangladesh (taken in April 2011).  A larger version of Faces of Bangladesh was shown as a slide show at the British Museum in September.  I have also posted an article which I wrote and which has been published in the Pamir Times about my recent visit to Pakistan entitled Gilgit-Baltistan - a tourist Shangri La?

In the legal parts, I have recently added

  • new lecture notes on Possession Claims and ASBIs.
  • December 2011 Recent Developments in Housing Law from Legal Action magazine.
  • An updated version of the summaries of all cases on Tenancy Deposits and Housing Act 2004 which includes all cases about which I know and is up to date as at 29th December 2011.  It includes the decision in Suurpere v Nice.
  • New summing-up directions on indecent images.

There is an article about me, travel and photography Global Life Through a Lens on the website for the Judiciary of England and Wales – you  can see it by following this link http://www.judiciary.gov.uk/about-the-judiciary/judges-magistrates-and-tribunal-judges/features/life-through-lens
