Housing Law

HHJ Jan Luba QC and I wrote Recent Developments in Housing Law each month. These articles are published in the journal Legal Action and, we hope, provide details of everything that housing practitioners need to know - political developments, new legislation and recent cases.

This page provides links to some back copies of Recent Developments - but to read this month's article, you should subscribe to Legal Action via their web site www.lag.org.uk.

September 2010 marked the 25th anniversary of the first time that Legal Action published Recent Developments in Housing Law. To mark the occasion, September's Legal Action included a fascinating review of trends in housing law over the last 25 years, written by John Gallagher, principal solicitor at Shelter, entitled 'Recent Developments in housing law' at 25.  Here it is.

The Battle of Arlington House, written for the 45th anniversary of the opening of Camden Community Law Centre, describes some aspects of the Law Centre's work back in the 1980s relating to Arlington House, then the biggest men's hostel in Europe.
The Future of Civil Justice is an article I wrote commenting on proposals by Sir Geoffrey Vos, Master of the Rolls, to reform Civil Justice procedure.
